HOW WE WORSHIP
Reverence, awe, joy, and adoration—these are words which characterize our Sunday morning gathering. As we gather as God’s people around His Word—to hear from Him and to speak, pray, and sing unto Him—we do so with reverence and awe for who God is and also great joy and adoration for what God has done for us through Jesus Christ.
Our worship together is shaped by the Bible. We sing songs and hymns which are based on scripture and sound theology. We recite creeds which are either directly from Scripture or are classic summaries of Christian theology. We pray prayers which are saturated by the words and concerns of Scripture. And finally, we listen to Scripture read and taught. The sermon explains, illumines, and applies the text which we publicly read. We also partake in communion regularly, remembering and reflecting on the sacrifice of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
